Overheard this week at Fiksu DSP HQ

Today we’re trying something new. Rather than just writing about what’s happening in the mobile ad industry or discussing the latest and greatest at Fiksu DSP, we’re instead going to try and provide you with some light Friday morning reading. The goal of this new endeavor “Overheard at Fiksu DSP HQ” is to once a week give you a sense of the people and personalities churning the butter behind the scenes. It’ll be funny, dumb, relatable, heartbreaking, agonizing, poignant: but mostly just short. As an inaugural reader we welcome your feedback. Should we keep it up? Shut it down? More…..

Fiksu wins two Stevie Awards – can you help us win another?

We’re excited to share that we’ve been honored as both a Gold and Bronze Stevie Award Winner in the 2016 American Business Awards. And with your help, we could add a third. Our work with Scotts’ My Lawn app was awarded the gold medal for Mobile Marketing Campaign of the Year. It was through this campaign that Fiksu helped Scotts to target their key audiences on mobile – ultimately helping them almost double the original goal of lawn care plans completed. Additionally, our Fiksu Mobile Audience Platform was selected as a Bronze winner for New Product or Service of the…..

Fiksu continues to dominate top-grossing iOS charts

Apple’s Best of 2015 charts for the App Store are always a good way to discover the real cream of the app world: from app of the year Periscope and game of the year Lara Croft GO through the rest of their editorial selections, there are loads of great apps for getting things done, communicating in new ways, or just having fun. If you dig into that iTunes feature, though, you’ll find the Top Charts for all of 2015, including the Top 25 Grossing: those apps that made the most money for their publishers over the course of the year……

Giving thanks: EMMA win and 6B downloads

While most of us were busy with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US, the mobile world kept turning – and Fiksu had two notable acheivements. First, we won the award for Most Effective App Install Campaign at this year’s Effective Mobile Marketing Awards or EMMAs. The judges selected us for our work on the Scotts My Lawn app campaign, which drove nearly 60% more installs than its initial goal at 60% less than the target CPI. It’s an honor to be recognized by the team behind Mobile Marketing Magazine. Here’s the full list of winners……

Fiksu2Fiksu ride cruises to another great year

Everyone lined up at the Northampton Office – ready to roll out This past Saturday marked the 4th annual Fiksu2Fiksu (F2F for short) event, a 100-mile ride between Fiksu’s two Massachusetts offices, from Northampton to Boston. The tradition was started by a handful of avid cyclers at Fiksu with the support of CEO Micah Adler, who joins the ride every year. The camaraderie and a love of cycling brings riders back year after year, and this year was no different: the morning of September 12th was foggy, not too cold, and you could feel the excitement. Despite the early start…..

Fiksu 5K Goes the Distance

The inaugural Fiksu 5K saw more than 50 Fiksuers run, jog, and walk around Boston’s Esplanade Friday evening. This last-gasp-of-summer event was billed as a “just for fun” run, but predictably got a little bit competitive once people got moving: Fiksu’s competitive spirit is hard to keep down, no matter what we’re doing. Here are the winners: Men Women First Llewellyn Smith (Engineering) Emily Little (Engineering) Second Phillip Imkamp  (Sales) Katherine Gray (Product Management) Third Michael Bender (Sales) Claire Oliverson (Marketing)   While Llewellyn dominated the men’s field, Emily and Kat battled down to the wire, with Emily eking out a win at the finish…..

Fiksu celebrates 5 billion downloads (and counting)

As the largest independent source of mobile audience data, we’re excited to report that we’ve just eclipsed the 5 billion download mark. In case you’re wondering just how much 5 billion really is, it’s more than the combined population of all seven countries where we have offices around the globe. That includes the US, UK, Finland, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and Germany. Our official download number 5,000,000,000 came for our client Le Figaro, a longstanding French newspaper who we’re excited to be helping establish a strong presence on mobile. When looking at iOS-only downloads, we’ve now tracked an impressive 1…..

Fiksu welcomes its annual wave of summer interns and co-ops

This summer we’re pleased to welcome a contingent of talented college students, including interns from Dartmouth and Williams College, as well as several co-ops from Northeastern University. They’ll be working across nearly all departments at Fiksu, including sales, marketing, finance, accounting, and engineering. This summer’s group brings a strong international flavor to the organization, with several students raised abroad including in Asia and India, and one of them even fluent in four languages. They’re all eager…..

Fiksu’s own Jennie White among Boston’s future leaders

You can’t talk about innovation in Boston without mentioning MITX. The Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange is a dynamic and growing community of thought leaders, collaborators, and individuals in search of insight, education and opportunity. Their annual awards event, held just last week, is one of the best and biggest of its kind in the nation. In keeping with the spirit of innovation, the organization sponsors a Future Leaders Group, made up of highly select young pacesetters from across the Boston start-up community. This year’s Future Leaders class includes standouts from the likes of Hubspot, Google, TD Bank/Boston Bruins, Communispace,…..
